On 14 July, the Irish Cabinet approved a bill introducing paid leave for employees who experience an early miscarriage, extending entitlement beyond the current framework, which only applies when the pregnancy loss occurs after the 23rd week of pregnancy. The leave would be available from the employee’s first day of employment, subject to the presentation of a medical certificate and a minimum of 13 weeks’ continuous service. The bill will now be considered by Parliament.
