On March 30 and after a year of negotiations, the employers’ General Confederation of Italian Commerce and Tourism confederation, Confcommercio, together with the unions signed Italy’s largest private sector national collective agreement, covering 3million employees in the services sector.
More flexibility over hours in return for higher wages. Such is the essence of the deal that was eventually struck between Confcommercio and the unions: Filcams-CGIL, Fiscat-CGIL and Uiltucs-UIL. This new agreement comes into force on April 01, 2015 and runs until December 31, 2017.
