Union membership is gaining ground.  Lately, Total Call, a call center working for French contractors, has experienced its first strike.  The first social conflict of a call center working with foreign countries came in the form of a 4-day work stoppage.  Claims concerned a wage increase and better working conditions.  Nearly 10 years after the creation of the first call center in Morocco, this first union memorandum of understanding improves working and pay conditions in a market where human resources play a key role.  Until 2008, when the first call center union was created in the country, there were no union members in the sector.
