EU/ European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs reinforces the rights of information, consultation and co-determination in the event of cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions. The report adopted yesterday, on 6 December, by the parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs, which is the competent committee as regards the directive on cross-border conversions, mergers and divisions, takes on board the recommendations made by the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (see article n°10908). The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), which has been very active on the issue, has emphasised that the report boosts the right to information and consultation, including with the involvement of the European Works Council, if a company moves an office from one EU member state to another.
