With the legislative elections under a month away, the election’s front-runner, the ruling national-conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party’s election program has dropped a bombshell policy measure. If re-elected the ruling majority party has promised a significant staged increase in the minimum salary. Employers have been quick to react.

Currently set at PLN 2,250 (€519), the PiS is looking for the minimum salary level to rise to PLN 3,000 (€692) by the end of 2020, and to PLN 4,000 (€922) by the end of 2023.
