Romania: National Union Bloc fights against gender discrimination at work

Lower pay. 100,000 employees were interviewed in over 200 businesses and administrations in Romania. In the end, eloquent figures clearly show that women are discriminated against at work. The study carried out by the National Union Bloc to launch the Esthr project, shows that, for the same job and working time, women in average earn 7.3% less than their male counterparts. This gap is even wider in manufacturing (32.9%), insurance (31.3%), trade (25.6%), hotel catering (23.9%) and even teaching (16%).
