The info. The Romanian Parliament adopted an amendment on 15 May to an emergency ordinance adopted in December 2025 which, since 1 February 2026, had introduced a waiting day for the compensation of sick leave and maternity leave. The amendment introduces exceptions to this measure. Thus, as of 1 June 2026, the first day of work stoppage is once again compensated for women on maternity leave and for certain long-term illnesses.
