According to a recent survey, 61 % of the members of the main Swedish trade-union organization, LO, oppose the federation's financing of the social democrat party. But the trade union's leaders are not ready to follow this opinion. (Ref 06371)
LO is the main confederation of trade unions in Sweden with 2 million members, close to the social democrat party. The link is historical, and until 1991, members of LO paid with their trade union due a contribution to the social democrat party, of which they became automatically a member.
