Italy: Confindustria and the CGIL, Cisl and Uil unions reach agreement on “Single Representation Text”

On January 10, CGIL, Cisl, Uil and employers reached an agreement on the “Single Representation Text,” which regulates certification and the forms of union representation, the validation and scope of national and company agreements, and introduces sanctions for unions and employers violating these commitments.  It consolidates and completes the interconfederal agreements on union democracy and representation signed on June 28, 2011 and May 31, 2013, which aimed to improve union representativeness and the validity of the agreements signed.  Independent unions – still excluded from this representation – announced “tough opposition.”
