AI agents are increasingly advanced in warehouses, Manhattan revealed at its EMEA Exchange conference on October 13, 2026 in Milan. This was illustrated by L’Oréal’s presentation, which shared the results of an adoption of Manhattan’s agents in its warehouses. While the cosmetics group has been using Manhattan’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) in its warehouses since 2022, it decided to become an early adopter of ActiveAgents, a solution powered by Gemini.
AI agents: the KPIs that led L’Oréal to scale up across its warehouses
After testing 7 AI agents in its warehouses, L’Oréal is scaling up. Deployed to coordinate picking waves, manage replenishment and handle stocktaking, Manhattan’s agents have helped cut several logistics lead times. The beauty manufacturer now plans to roll them out across 40 distribution centres, with an estimated 60,000 working hours saved per year.
