Following Google for Android, Apple's Tap to Pay functionality (already live in the U.S.A., Australia, the U.K. and the Netherlands) is now coming to France. By transforming salespeople's iPhones into in-store payment devices, this service raises questions about the future of POS terminals in stores.

Seven years after the launch of Apple Pay in France, which enabled mobile payment to take off, Apple announced on Tuesday November 14th a launch of “Tap to Pay on Iphone”. This contactless payment solution transforms a simple iPhone into an in-store payment terminal, thanks to NFC technology.
