On October 20, 2025, the Amazon Web Services cloud (Amazon Q2 2025 revenue: US$168 billion, up by 13.3%) was down for several hours before returning to normal. Numerous websites and applications around the world were affected following an outage at the North Virginia data center, which has been responsible for 3 outages since 2020.
