Google (Alphabet Inc., revenue of US$165.3 billion in H1 to June 2024, net margin at 28.6% of sales) has announced a roadmap for India, including voice processing of its AI-powered assistant Gemini. With 40% of Gemini users in India already using voice interaction, Google is rolling out Gemini Live for native speakers (40 languages worldwide). In India, Hindi will be available first, followed by eight other languages (Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil and Urdu).
