ejected the group’s rescue plan, the staff representatives demanded an extraordinary works council meeting on February 12. The goal was to meet with the Belgian bank’s management and to make sure that Fortis’ small shareholders’ ‘no’ will not have detrimental consequences for the 25.000 employees of the company.
