Dansk Industri (DI) and 3F’s Transportgruppe signed, on February 26, an agreement renewing the joint collective agreement (fællesoverenskomsten) for storekeepers, drivers and dockworkers. Covering about 30,000 people, it is the framework collective agreement in the transport industry and sets the tone for all the others. Signed for three years (March 1, 2014-March 1, 2017), it provides, in addition to the wage increase, for better training and parental leave rights, enhanced union control to prevent social dumping and more cooperation between unions and employers.
A wage increase that sets the tone for “normal pay.” This agreement is the first of the “normal wage domain” (normallønsområdet). In this domain (which notably includes cleaning and industrial slaughterhouses), the salary defined in the sectoral agreement takes precedents as there usually aren’t any local pay negotiations.
