The interministerial committee set up by the government to come up with measures against social dumping presented its report last week. The government is going to rely on it to take action. Possible initiatives include: giving the labor inspectorate the power to issue administrative sanction, increased use of social clauses for public contracts, and enhanced cooperation between national and international authorities. This interministerial committee (see our dispatch No. 120451), which involved the social partners’ representatives, presented its report on October 27. The report exclusively focuses on social dumping following from foreign businesses operating in Denmark with posted staff and on bogus foreign self-employed workers performing, in practice, subordinate work.
