Employees are now allowed to use their own work equipment (desk, chair, private computer…) when they are teleworking, as long as it complies with current standards (e.g. adjustable chair, separate screen and keyboard). Otherwise, employers are obliged to provide the necessary tools with the only requirement being that employees must work from home for an average of more than two days per week each month. The new rules were approved on 03 February by all parliamentary groups, including the ruling minority Social Democrats along with the Social Liberal Party, the Socialist People’s Party (SPP), the Red-Green Alliance, and the Conservative People’s Party. They “reflect today’s labour market” and “respond to the fact that more and more people have different workplaces,” said Employment Minister Peter Hummelgaard. The measures are expected to come into effect at the end of April 2022. The government and the various political groups have agreed to meet again in a year’s time to review their implementation.
