The news. On May 7, co-legislators reached a political agreement on the digital omnibus, a text aimed at simplifying EU AI regulations. It proposes shifting the entry into force of AI Act provisions related to “high-risk” systems to December 2, 2027, compared to the original date of August 2, 2026. All AI tools related to recruitment, promotion, task allocation, or working conditions are affected. Deployers will be required to inform employees, ensure human oversight, and provide training.
