On 11 November, the Court of Justice of the European Union upheld most of the directive on adequate minimum wages, rejecting Denmark’s claim that it infringed on national sovereignty over wage setting. However, the judges annulled two provisions of the directive.
On 11 November, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) handed down a much-anticipated ruling confirming the validity of most of the directive on adequate minimum wages. On 18 January 2023, Denmark, supported by Sweden, had brought an action before the CJEU seeking to have the text annulled in its entirety.
