The 500 Fiba representatives gathered in Carovigno (Brindisi) on May 13-16 for the 8th Congress of the Cisl’s Credit and Insurance Federation, appointed a new general secretary, Giulio Romani. They also vote to gather signatures to send an own-initiative bill to Parliament regulating and limiting top management remuneration and legal action against managers in case of poor management. From dialogue to participation. In his presentation speech, Giulio Romani warned about the risk that workers might lose interest in the union, like citizens lost interest in the parties in the latest election, if it doesn’t face the growing social unrest caused by the crisis and worsening working conditions. He wants to add to the “Production Pact,” which should be signed under the new government, the aim of employee participation to businesses’ capital (giving workers share and recognizing “united employees” associations representing quotas of employee capital) and to the company’s profits and governance.
