Russia/ Tripartite social agreement for 2018-2020 signed. On 30 January, a general agreement was signed by social partners – the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs – and the government. The agreement sets out priorities and measures for economic, pay, employment and social policy for the period between 2018 and 2020. From 1 May, the minimum wage will increased from 9,489 Roubles (135 euros) to 11,163 Roubles (159 euros), bringing it up the living wage in the country. Furthermore, the parties commit to preventing late payment of employees, a widespread practice in Russia, as well as bolstering the protection of worker rights in the case of employer insolvency.
