Union representatives from the Nokia Siemens Networks company gathered again (see our story n°070140,) in Brussels, on May 25, 2007, on the initiative of the European Metalworkers' Federation of (EMF) to exchange views on the restructurings plan announced by the management of the entity born from the fusion of the network activities Nokia and Siemens (Ref. 070465)
Nokia Siemens network’s management, invited by the EMF, presented during this meeting the restructurings plan they consider before unionists. As an answer, union representatives unanimously decided to declare their opposition to this plan. They asked that it be cancelled; they rejected the dismissal of 15% of the workforce, and expressed their refusal of any factory closure in Europe, as well as any outsourcing.
