According to a report published by the ILO ahead of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work (28 April), 840,000 people die globally each year from cardiovascular and mental disorders following exposure to psychosocial risks. Among the most impactful factors, 35% of workers log more than 48 hours per week and 23% of employees have experienced at least one instance of violence or harassment. Overall, psychosocial risks also contribute to an annual 1.37% loss in GDP.
