Management and unions at the Spanish Opel plant have announced a pre-agreement on salaries which includes a 2018 pay freeze in exchange for new projects securing the site’s future.
On the evening of 29 January and following marathon talks, the social partners at Opel Figueruelas (near Saragossa) secured a difficult pre-agreement. The dual goal was to find a solution acceptable to both parties that would maintain Opel Figueruelas in operation and secure an order book with new projects that can raise the site’s profile.
