United States: more than 10 years of history between management and the autoworkers union, UAW over unionizing at Nissan (Canton, Mississippi)

For Linda Brown, a pro-union assembly line technician, “threats have to stop”. Ms. Brown recounted her day to day working life at the Nissan production plant in Canton Mississippi to the French union representatives and politicians that she met during the trip: “I was speaking with one of the co-workers about the union, saying that all of us has to speak out. And the manager stood up there to spy on all that conversation. He then called senior management and he reported the co-worker. They told him upfront, and he told me he was told not to talk about the union to me or to anybody on this production plant, nor on the parking lot,” she continued.
