Walgreens (turnover of US$133 billion in 2021, up by 7.5% at constant exchange rates) announced sale of abortion pills in U.S. states that allow it, following the new rules published on 3 January 2023 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). While the organisation had only allowed certified doctors and certain mail-order pharmacies to dispense the abortion pill, the new regulations allow all pharmacies to apply for certification to sell it.
