The News. The Austrian National Council (lower house of parliament) passed an active retirement law (Aktivpension) on 23 September. The text introduces a tax allowance of up to €1,250 per month, or €15,000 per year, for people who remain in employment after the statutory retirement age (65 for men; 62 for women, with a gradual alignment) and have accumulated at least 40 years of pension contributions.
