The news. On 24 August, the Czech Tripartite Council, comprising representatives of the government, trade unions and employers, approved a minimum wage increase of more than 11%, effective from 1 January next year. It will rise from CZK 22,400 to CZK 24,900 gross per month (around €1,033), reaching 44.6% of the average wage.

The stakes. The Czech minimum wage is one of the lowest in the EU. The government aims to gradually raise it to 47% of the average wage by 2029, under a calculation mechanis
