EU: Parliament’s Employment Committee votes to recognise burnout as an occupational disease

The news. On 2 September, MEPs on the European Parliament’s Employment Committee adopted, by 41 votes to 12, the report calling for the legislative framework on psychosocial risks to be strengthened. While the initial text called for a directive to be presented by the end of the year, parliamentarians welcomed the inclusion of the issue within the upcoming legislative initiative on quality jobs. They advocate the recognition of burnout as an occupational disease and a partial reversal of the bu
