On 18 February, Gamesa, the Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, signed a global framework agreement with IndustriALL Global Union, the trade union federation, and Spanish trade unions. The group has employees on nearly every continent and this agreement is a first in the renewable energy sector. It aims to strengthen social and environmental aspects of the group's Code of Conduct, whilst ensuring that commitments shall be respected through international social dialog.
Fundamental rights and freedoms. The company commits to enforce international treaties on fundamental rights, from human rights to children’s rights and the prohibition of forced labor and any form of discrimination. It explicitly provides for the international standards cited in the text to prevail over national standards if the latter are inferior.
