The news. The Employment Act 2025 will come into force on 29 July 2026. The legislation introduces measures allowing employees to continue working beyond the retirement age specified in their employment contract where that age is lower than the statutory retirement age of 66. An updated Code of Practice, issued by the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC), has been published in the Official Gazette to help employers and employees implement this new right.
