After many months of inertia despite the looming deadline for transposing the pay transparency directive, member states are waking up. Greece presented a draft bill on 3 June, following Bulgaria, Romania, and Czechia. Running behind schedule, France is refining its own draft.
Following Italy, Lithuania, Poland, and the Netherlands, Greece is now making progress on transposing the European pay transparency directive. On 3 June, the conservative executive published a draft bill, open for consultation until the 17th. The text grants employers the right to refuse a request for information on pay levels for work of equal value if it is deemed “abusive” (for instance, if it occurs too frequently).
