Poland: second wave of emigration is a challenge for Polish employers

The official report is alarming : the massive escape of workers towards Western Europe is changing the labour market in Poland. The French Chamber of commerce in Warsaw is beginning to ask the following question: how to manage the emergency situations linked to hiring ? (Ref 06844)

The first wave of emigration concerned doctors and nurses who left, in significant number, for Great Britain and Ireland. The second wave involves bricklayers, welders, truck drivers, carpenters etc… A real shortage of skilled workforce? Polish economists fear so. At the moment, several industrial regions are already affected and firms are struggling to recruit.
