Since the start of the war in Ukraine, EU countries have been facing soaring energy prices. Retailers are being asked to become energy efficient this autumn with a package of measures to avoid gas shortages this winter.

Our editorial team focused on the main measures taken in Western Europe, with a focus on Germany, France, Spain and Italy.

The restrictions mentioned are governmental measures, except in France where they are initiatives taken by a group of retailers.
