Russian nationals banned from Chanel products…except in China

While Chanel bans Russian customers from buying luxury goods, Chinese stores are exempt. Sanctions against Russia, voted in March by the European Union, prohibit European brands from selling or exporting luxury goods (over €300 per item) to Russian nationals anywhere in the world.

In Chanel stores in the US or Dubai, sales staff now ask each customer to declare their main residence. However, in China, which has not imposed sanctions on Russia, Chanel stores are different.
