AXA: European funds for training of the EWC’s members

The European Works Council of the French insurance group AXA will organize a training session, in May 2008 in Warsaw, to ease the integration of the council's new members, following AXA's acquisition of the Swiss insurance company Winterthur. The European Commission will finance 80% of the training's overall cost. (Ref. 070804)

The seminar’s goal is to make it easier to integrate the new members to AXA’s EWC; some of them come from countries which were not represented in AXA’s EWC, such as Greece (after the acqusition of Alpha insurances), Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. The training will specifically concern industrial relations systems in these new countries and will enable the council to “keep a good performance level and to remain efficient”, highlighted the trade union organization UNI Europa.
