EU: nine European countries are calling for a revival of social Europe

The Labour Ministries of nine Member States adopted, on February 14, a declaration favorable to a "new impulse for social Europe". A few days to the Council of Ministers of Employment on February 22, this declaration wants to link "the revival of social Europe to the resurgence of institutional dynamic in Europe". An appendix presents a series of tracks to follow in order to make this goal come true. (Ref. 070144)

In this declaration, the Belgian, Bulgarian, Cypriot, Spanish, French, Luxembourger, Greek, Hungarian and Italian Labor Ministries are assuring “that it is necessary to reinforce the European social model, represented by principles and common values – such as social justice, equality and solidarity – which inspire, beyond their diversity, national social systems and which are mirrored in Treaties”.
