Transnationality. The revised Agreement contains new definitions of information/consultation which reflect some of the recent changes in the European legislation and confirms the nature of the transnational matters that will be subject to information/consultation with the EWC.  Employee representatives and management long debated these issues, but acknowledged the good cooperative atmosphere that has prevailed for two years while negotiating the new agreement. Unions wanted to amend the information/consultation procedure to ensure they receive timely notice of major acquisitions and disposals UNI Europa and the steering committee of the EWC also argued for abroad definition of transnational matters and,in the end, agreement was reached using wording based on the directive.
