union, which has been bargaining for over a year for the renewal of an agreement on the continuation of employment for the 16,000 employees of Airbus’ German subsidiary, announced, on September 28th, the beginning of warning strikes. Last Friday, the last bargaining round failed once again. The main bone of contention is the extent of productivity gain required by the company. Airbus management announced that, if necessary, it would refer the matter to a court to avoid any warning strikes.
