The pilots' trade union at Iberia has ended the strike which started on the morning of July 11and which was due to last for 7 days. 240 flights had been cancelled per day. Pilot representatives and the management of the old public airline company signed an agreement on July 12 before noon. (Ref. 06719)
The Minister for the organization of the territory, Magdalena Alavez, which was an intermediary in the negotiations, will stand as guarantor of the respect of the negotiated conditions, by means of a commission of follow-up. Iberia promises to maintain all the pilots’ jobs, in spite of the launching of a subsidiary low-cost company next October.
