Over 200.000 participants to the 14 regional demonstrations and a support rate of almost 90% to the 8-hour national strike. These are union results for the Friday November 16 mobilisation for the renewal of metalworkers' national collective agreement which expired last June. Unions are very satisfied with the November 16 national mobilisation, which supposedly exceeded that of October 30 (see our article No. 070906,) stopping production in several of the sector’s plants. Over 200.000 workers (union source) would have taken part in the initiatives. All in all, the national strike support rate would have been of 90%, with peaks at 100% in some factories such as Ansaldo Energia and Fincantieri in Genoa, 90% in Zanussi near Florence, 90% in ThyssenKrupp near Terni, and
