Netherlands: De Unie, the executives’ union, plays the e-card to allure young people

De Internet Vakbond, the internet antenna launched by De Unie, the executives' union, in 2006, started, on February 13, 2008, a wide movement aimed at young people: free access to a database to find an internship, both in the Netherlands and abroad. The objective is to draw young people towards unions. (Ref. 080433)

It all started with an observation: only 2% of the 500.000 current students do an internship abroad. De Unie thinks that this rate is too low in a context of “global” economy. The union created a partnership with Global Placement Network (GPN) an existing network with 70.000 students and 12.000 companies throughout the world, in order to develop and globalize it. The initiative has two parts, entitled 3D-Internship to find an internship abroad, and 3D-Stagebank to find one in the Netherlands. T
