The postal sector of the Federation of Communication and Transportation FCT-CCOO launched an internet campaign in order to sensitize the European Commission and the Spanish government to its opposition to the postal sector's liberalization as considered by the European Union. (Ref. 070369)
It is as a reaction to the plans to liberalize the postal sector on January 1, 2009 – that the Spanish government would like to move forward to January 1, 2008 – that the postal sector’s union federation is launching this campaign. The third directive proposition, which is currently being debated in the European Parliament and in the EU’s Ministers Council, plans to open up entirely the postal sector in 2009.
