Volkswagen: early retirement at 58.5 years old will remain possible

Employees of the German car manufacturer Volkswagen will take profit of a new agreement which will enable them to cease their activity at 58 and a half years old. (Ref. 06116)

The management of the group and the IG-Metall trade union branch amended, on February 2, the wage agreement on progressive early
retirements (Tarifvertrag Altersteilzeit) applicable in the company. This amendment will allow employees who wish to remain within the company’s numbers until 62 years old to cease their activity three and a half years earlier.
