On January 20, newly-inaugurated US President Donald Trump signed a decree ordering the Department of Justice not to apply a law banning TikTok. He gave parent company ByteDance 75 days, i.e. until the beginning of April, to sell 50% of the U.S. business, valued at between US$40 and US$50 billion, to a national investor.
