November for the 570,000 employees (Angestellte) in trade was used for workers (Arbeiter) in the sector (storekeepers, drivers…), i.e. about 100,000 people. Unlike the agreement for employees, there is no difference between low and medium wages for the workers. Therefore, their wages will unilaterally increase of 1.5% on January 1, 2010 (3.6% in 2008), with a minimum monthly increase of 22 euros. The agreement will last for a year. (Ref. 091150)
