Belgium: cross-frontier workers obtain payment of their travel to work expenses

The collective agreement n° 19 septies (v. enclosure), adopted on May 31, modifies the collective agreement n° 19 ter on the financial participation of employers in the transportation expenses of workers. Its object is to bring Belgian regulations in line with community law on the free movement of workers. Concretely, this means that employees living in another EU member state and using public transport to go to work in Belgium will be treated in the same way as workers resident in Belgium regarding payment of their travel to work expenses by the employer.
