Great Britain: Unite union postpones British Airways strike to January

Illegal strike. While Unite announced a 12-day strike starting on December 22, 2009 (affecting one million employees), the Supreme Court announced, in a ruling initiated by British Airways, that the strike was illegal. Indeed, among the 12,000 employees who voted, the union included nearly 1,000 employees who accepted voluntary layoffs and who were therefore not entitled to vote.
