Italy: pharmaceuticals/chemicals social partners sign unitary agreement for the renewal of their national collective agreement

After only two months of negotiations, “without a single hour of strike” and in spite of three different platforms (see our dispatch No. 090875), Filcem-Cgil, Femca-Cisl and Uilcem-Uil for unions and Federchimica and Farmindustria for employers reached an agreement for the renewal of the sector’s collective agreement on December 18. Signed for three years (from January 1, 2010 to December 31, 2012), the new CCN affects over 200,000 employees in over 1,700 businesses – 90% SMEs – and will be subject to workers’ approval during assemblies on workplaces.
