The management of the German aeronautical equipment manufacturer PFW Aerospace (formerly Pfals-Flugzeugwerke) signed, on September 6, 2008, with a special negotiating body, an agreement establishing a European works council. This agreement includes precise clauses on the relations between the council and the national structures as well as the procedure for the re-negotiation of the agreement in the case of a merger. The PFW Aerospace Company (1.507 employees,) a former Airbus subsidiary, which became independent in 1997, is mostly present in Germany, Great Britain (RSM Aerospace), France (Specitubes) and Turkey (PFW HS). The EWC covers all the facilities of the group in the EU, the EEA and Switzerland, and negotiations will start in two years to extend its field of application to Turkey.
